To Request Computer Technology

The Lazarus Foundation is a community-based non-profit computer recycling organization located in Columbia, Maryland, USA. The Foundation assists educational institutions, governmental agencies, and other nonprofit organizations in the Baltimore-Washington, DC metropolitan area by providing upgraded/refurbished computers. If your organization is outside our local area, but can make arrangements to have the computer technology picked up at our workshop, we may be in a position to help. Please be aware that there are costs involved in any assistance the Foundation provides and that the Foundation does not have the resources to ship computers.

If your organization is interested in acquiring computer technology from the Foundation, we require a written request on your organization's letterhead and signed by an officer of the organization Your request must be mailed to The Lazarus Foundation, 6520 Freetown Road, Columbia, Maryland 21044 and must answer the following four questions:

• What is your organization’s mission?
• What is the intended use or purpose of the computer(s) i.e. how do you plan on using the requested technology?
• What software applications will you be installing on the computer(s) (e.g. Microsoft Office 2000, Quicken 2004, Corel Office Suite)?  The Foundation’s computers come with the Windows 2000 Professional  Operating System (OS) pre-installed.  However, you will need to specify which OS you’re requesting.  
• How does the computer need to be configured (i.e. specific information including processor speed, amount of memory, size of hard drive, network card, sound card, modem, etc. )?
